When I was younger, we moved around a bit. I was born in Illinois, lived in Connecticut for 7 years, and then moved to Tennessee. So I guess I grew up the most in Tennessee, but I don't consider myself Southern.
Where do you live now and why did you choose it?
I currently live in a suburb outside Portland, Oregon. I came to Oregon because I wanted to see it. Honestly, I'm wanting to live a bit closer to my family now that I have children.
What motivated you to start blogging?
I can't put my finger on exactly why I started blogging. I think it was a combination of things. I needed an outlet to express myself since I had moved far away from my friends and family. I also wanted to serve as a resource for people. I love sharing information that might be helpful to someone. I also love to talk, while not the same, blogging allows me to share my opinions.
What is the most challenging thing you face as a blogger?
I think it is easy to get discouraged, especially when you don't have a ton of followers.
How would you spend one hour of free time – no responsibilities?
I'd sleep. I have a very active toddler that keeps me very busy and I'm pregnant, so I am never well rested.
What’s your favorite form of social media? Why?
I really love visual social media, like Instagram. I love to see great pictures, they can be so inspiring. I just started a new account and I am trying to learn from the best. It really takes a lot more time and planning than I thought.
When you’re not blogging, what are you up to?
I am always needing more time in the day. My hands are kept very full by my little boy. He has more energy than any other person I know. I spend most of my time with him or cleaning up his messes. When I do steal away time for myself, I usually nap.
If you could choose one person to happen across your blog, who would it be?
I'm really in love with The Everygirl. If one of the founders read my blog I would be both ecstatic and embarrassed.
Describe your family.
I am married to a man that might as well be my polar opposite. He is very relaxed and go with the flow. It is a great counter to my personality. My oldest child, has a very big personality. He is so full of life. He brings such joy when he is around. He is also a handful. I am learning how to be a better person everyday by having him in my life. I am currently pregnant so I am waiting to see what kind of person he will be. I know he doesn't kick as much so maybe he will be a bit more relaxed. We shall see.
What is one item you cannot live without?
I'm pretty sure I could live without anything I own. I have been trying to be more in the moment and less tied to things. If I had to pick though, it would be my iPhone. It has pictures of friends and family on it. I love looking back at pictures of my little boy or of me and my husband when we were dating.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Before I had children, I could have given an answer to this question. I have always been very driven and planned on having a very successful career. Now I can't imagine anything but being with my boys. I don't want to be a stay at home mom forever because it isn't financially feasible, but I don't know what returning to work would look like at this point.
