6 Fall and Winter Wardrobe Essentials

I am so excited about the trends for Fall and Winter this year. I have picked six trends that I feel are essential for your fall and winter wardrobe. What I really love that a lot of these pieces are timeless and would make a great addition to a capsule wardrobe.

Some people avoid chambray because it can be hard to style. While I try to avoid the denim on denim look, I recommend pairing chambray with white or black. A chambray dress is easy to throw on and looks good with everything.

Comfy Turtlenecks

I'm pretty new to the turtleneck fan club. I bought my first one a couple of winters ago. I love how easy they are to layer but can also be worn alone.

Cozy Cardigans

Cardigans have always been a wardrobe staple for me. You can wear them to the office with a dress or go more casual by layering one over a t-shirt. This year go for a large comfy cardigan opposed to the more fitted versions that look a bit too put together.

Velvet Everything

Living in a climate where it rains almost everyday in the Fall and Winter, it is hard for me to wear delicate materials like velvet. For those of you in drier climates, velvet is a great way to add a soft touch to any outfit.

While I prefer to wear longer necklaces, some of these chokers are pretty enough that I am willing to give them a try. With this accessory you can go for a simple choker or make a larger statement with a blinged out piece.

Floral Prints

Florals are not only for the warmer months. Pick floral pieces with darker colors to look more seasonally appropriate.

Later this month, I will be doing a post on building a capsule wardrobe that incorporates some these trends and other classic pieces.
