This post is a roundup of my purchases from January as well as my wishlist for February. Read or scroll to the end for a fun and easy GIVEAWAY!
This is a new post series that I will be sharing with you all. At first glance, it might seem like an odd thing to share since it doesn’t seem to serve much of a purpose. However, if you dig a little deeper, you can see this post is multipurpose.
First, it helps me keep track of my spending. I am trying to be more intentional with my purchases. Listing them out and sharing them helps to hold me more accountable.
Second, it serves as a teaser for content. More than likely anything listed here is going to show up on this blog or on my Instagram feed.
Third, it can help you find a deal on something you are looking to buy. I try not to pay full price and I always look for the best deals. If I find a good deal on something I bought, I will share it with you.
PS. This post contains affiliate links. Should you make a purchase I will make a small commission. Don’t worry, there is no added cost to you.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Essentials ($45): If you want to try a skincare brand but are afraid of committing to a full size product, look for travel sizes or deluxe samples. I’d been wanting to try Elemis for a while but they are a high-end brand, so instead of buying three full size products, I bought a pack of travel products. I linked a similar set from Ulta ($45) but I purchased mine on ebay for $21.99.
FRESH SUGAR Lip Caramel Hydrating Balm ($18): I love doing brand reviews like I did for Boscia, Belif, and Caudalie. When I did a poll on Instagram, many of you suggested I pick up this balm. I snagged a sample size on ebay for $7.
Pixi Beauty Rose Infused PR Package ($6-24): I am very fortunate to be on Pixi’s PR list. This means I get packages from them every once in a while. This month they sent me a beautiful travel package full of products from their rose infused line. Guess what!?!? I’m going to be sending one of you a package of these Pixi goodies. Entering is super easy. Just scroll to the bottom of this page and do one or all of the entry options.
Benefit Quickie Contour Stick ($28): I have always been into cream ands liquid products but have had the hardest time finding a cream bronzer. I want the Chanel one, but I’m trying to be smarter with my money and my purchases. So instead of a $50 bronzer, I opted for a mini contour stick which I found for $10. By the way, would you be interested in a post about the best cream products?
YSL Volupte Tint-In-Balm ($34): I love luxury items. Pair a luxury item with beautiful packaging and I am sold. This stuff smells amazing, btw. I snagged mine for $25 on a flash sale website, maybe Gilt.
Clothes & Accessories
Seven Pencil Jeans: I am trying to buy my clothes second hand as much as possible. It’s better for the environment and my wallet. Plus I can find styles that aren’t available in stores anymore. Some of my favorite places to buy used clothes are ebay and Poshmark.
Lucky Brand Lace Top ($20) and Lucky Brand Jacquard Tank ($20): I bought both of these tops on super sale directly from Lucky Brand. I almost always buy Lucky Brand on Amazon or Nordstrom but I am glad I checked out their website.
February Wish List
Indie Lee Discovery Kit ($29): I haven’t heard too much about this brand. I had originally spotted it on Anthropologie’s website a while back. Now it is available on Sephora, so I have a feeling this brand might get popular. I want to try it and review it before it becomes too mainstream. I’ve been loving a lot of green beauty lately. Do you have any green beauty favorites? Feel free to share in the comments.
Not sure (?): I am working on skincare posts about night creams, eye creams, face washes, and face masks. These posts will come out over the next five months but I need product in order to write them. Is there a new skincare product you are wanting to see reviewed?
Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow ($28-49): I’ve been slowly building up my collection of Marc Jacobs Beauty products. I love all of the lip products that I’ve tried. Oh and eyeliner pencil is great too. This month, I am going to try an eyeshadow product. I am torn between picking up the new Eye-Conic palette or a single color product.
Charlotte Tilbury ($22-75): I am working on putting together a Charlotte Tilbury brand review. Of course her products are expensive so it is taking some time to collect enough products. I’ve currently tried one mascara, one cream eyeshadow, a shadow pencil, a kohl liner, one lipstick formula, and the lip liner. I generally like to try 10 products from a brand before I do a brand review. Are there any products you recommend I try?
Clothes & Accessories
Jcrew Sweater ($60-89): I purchased a beautiful cardigan earlier this season and I wished I had snagged it in every color. Other than that I haven’t purchased much for the coldest part of winter. I’m doing a minimalist wardrobe right now so I only want to pick up one. Here are my contenders: cream sweater, mushroom sweater
Shelf For Props/Gear: As a blogger, I have acquired a large number of props for photography. I have everything from different colored napkins to marble trays. Right now, I have things tucked away here and there but I really want to keep everything in a central location. I am looking at some options from IKEA and Wayfair.
