Yesterday, for the 31 Days To A Happier You daily challenge you made a list of 5 things you like about yourself. For Day 9 of the A Happier You Challenge we are going to keep the positivity flowing. Today (but only today), I give you permission to go ahead and toot your own horn.
I personally don’t like dwelling on the past. It’s one of my hard set rules for my personal well-being. Mostly because it opens up too many windows for negative thinking. It can be so easy to focus on the things we don’t have a in life, the missed opportunities, the might have beens.
Today’s task, as you might have guessed, is to write a list of your accomplishments. You can include anything you want on that list: places you’ve traveled, educational achievements, financial goals, relationship goals, career advancement etc. Don’t think you’ve accomplished much? I’m betting you’ve accomplished more than you think.
When you have finished writing your list, take a moment or two to reflect on what you’ve achieved. Let’ all of that awesomeness sink in. The point of today’s exercise is to help you see how much you have done already and to inspire you to see that you will do so much more in your life.
For today: Take 30 minutes and sit down and think about your accomplishments in life. And no accomplishment is too small. If it gives you the smallest amount of pride, write it down. Reflect on your list and let yourself feel good about that half-marathon you ran or your college degree or your successful internship… Go ahead and toot your own horn! You’ve earned it.
