Welcome to Day 8 of the 31 Days To A Happier You Challenge! Yesterday we did some light cleaning, today we are back to making lists. In case you haven’t noticed, I love lists. Today you are going to make a list of things you like about yourself.
If you are anything like me, you probably just let out an audible groan. It is way easier for me to make a list of things I don’t like about myself. With little to no time, I can list at least 10. Of course I am my own worst critic. Maybe (and hopefully) you aren’t like me and you can easily name a handful of things you like about yourself.
Some people have trouble with talking nice about themselves because it can seem braggy or narcissistic. While there are definitely people who think a bit too much of themselves, there isn’t anything wrong with recognizing your strengths.
Once you realize you have good qualities, it will be easier to feel better about yourself. You are not as terrible as you think, I promise.
For most of the 31 Days To A Happier You, we are going to be performing self-reflection. I know that can be hard for some people, but it will get easier with practice. That is another promise I am going to make.
For today, you are going to spend 10 or so minutes thinking about what you like about yourself. Now don’t just think about it, you need to write your list down ( I want at least five things on that list, too.). Writing it down is important. Do not skip this step. Why? Because writing it will make it more true. If we were in grade school, I’d make you write your list 5 times. Want some bonus points, make your list pretty and put in on your happiness board.
